Religious Content:

This book features two different Jewish belief systems.
Both boy's fathers are religious.
The boys are being taught the tenets of their religion and religion plays a large part in the characters challenges and solutions to those challenges.

My Take:

I read this book years ago in high school. It's a great classic with a lot of depth. I particularly remember the eye opening experience of reading about Reuven's interactions with Danny's family's observance of the Jewish faith and his reaction to finding out details about the holocaust as they emerged after the war. This is one of those books that should be on everyone's reading list.
